Historic Preservation
I have worked on a wide range of projects related to historic preservation, community heritage, cultural landscapes and state and local history. Have worked as Principal Conservation Architect and Preservation planner. Through my work I have been able to provide productive advice on how to use successfully federal, state, and local government programs in historic preservation. Have prepared detailed project reports identifying the historic precinct and buildings, researched histories of the historic neighborhoods to interpret the architectural styles and design features. Provided extensive condition assessment, prepared detailed reports for application of historic buildings in the register of Archaeological survey of India. Have prepared preservation strategies to enhance attractiveness and marketability of historic neighborhoods, development plan for renovation of historic buildings or structures and have developed heritage tourism strategies for the Goa tourism development corporation.
Graphic Design
After moving to United States, I worked on Volunteer projects for various non-profit organizations. Created stage designs, designed flyers, logos, created fundraising reports, and helped in designing the marketing plan.
Architectural Design
No matter what, the designer in me always brings me back to the roots! With my knowledge of historic preservation, it gives me added understanding of the site requirements, the community enhancement and sustainability for any architectural project. My concept is Space follows form. Hence, every element in my design is functional and not just for aesthetics.
